This quote resonates strongly with me right now because on June 1st, I gave notice at my day job. I’m going after what I want – helping small business owners to affordably establish and/or maintain a web presence while being my own boss, setting my own hours, and flexing my creative (and technical) “muscles”. I want to focus on helping others full-time, so the day job had to go. I am asking for what I want and I am going after it. I am stepping forward, so as to not stay in the same place. I encourage each and every one of you, dear readers, to do the same. Never you mind if it takes you out of your comfort zone – – no one who ever made it big got there by playing it safe. I challenge you to do just one BIG thing for your business this week, then come back to the comments and share with us what it was!

Got a website? Want to give visitors to your website an easy way to find you on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, etc? You could do something like this:
![]()
![]()
OR….
something like this!

Which would YOU rather click on?? I envisioned, designed and then implemented these on my website myself and I am VERY pleased with the results. I can do something special for YOUR website as well. Drop me a line here and I’ll send you some ideas!!

If at first you don’t succeed…

As small business professionals and entrepreneurs, we probably hear it often, even from our own lips – whether to others or to ourselves – but it certainly bears repeating.
I actually see this ‘quote’ quite a bit around the web and it seems to me it’s a paraphrase of this full quote by The British Bulldog:
“Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never – in nothing, great or small, large or petty – never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”
In your small business the ‘enemy’ might be failure. Or the competition. Or your own self, getting in your own way. Whatever the case, switch gears, take a step back and reassess, but never, never, never, NEVER give up!
